Architecture and Development Lead

About the role

The Architecture and Development Lead will be assigned to one or more projects for Sage Housing and be responsible for management of the Sage IT Development team.  The primary responsibility of this role at the outset will be manage the Sage IT Development Team, perform Development tasks, take responsibility for Code Review and Deployment activities, and consult across various projects to provide Microsoft Cloud expertise and design authority. This role may also support some training and project administration tasks.

This role with work with Business Analysts, Data Analyst, Developers, Project Managers, and Business Team SME’s as required.

The winning candidate will be highly skilled in the required technologies and delivery focussed. They will be passionate, committed, organised, and a fast learner, while at the same time being adaptable, coachable, and open to new approaches to technology solution projects.

Key duties include

  • Provide day to day management of the Sage development team including Code Reviews, Sprint planning, environment ownership and design authority
  • Document, develop and maintain As-is / To-be systems architecture for the business
  • Review 3rd party data architecture frameworks and complete gap analysis
  • Act as technical subject matter expert on Microsoft Cloud Architecture and Platforms
  • Contribute to design of the Sage DevOps framework
  • Develop project plan to optimise Sage’s Cloud architecture
  • Liaise with existing managed service providers to affect optimisation of system architecture
  • Consult across multiple project to ensure common approach to architecture and execution
  • Create necessary status reports
  • Create user sign-off documentation to Sage PMO standards

About you

  • Most important:
  • Strong experience with architecting and deploying Microsoft cloud enabled solutions
  • Knowledge of full stack Microsoft technology concepts including enterprise architecture, application architecture, databases, software, cloud computing, UI design
  • Experience developing solutions in Azure Cloud (Logic Apps, ADF, etc)
  • MS SQL development experience, including SSRS, SSIS
  • MS Dynamics 365 integration / development experience
  • Power Platform (Powerapps, Power Automate) development experience
  • Experience developing in multiple languages including C#, Python
  • Strong experience with object-oriented design and modelling
  • Strong experience with enterprise application integration and frameworks
  • Experience with relational and dimensional database modelling
  • Experience with visual modelling tools including UML
  • Experience in full life cycle of complex software deployment projects
  • Thoughtful practitioner of software engineering methodologies, frameworks and tools

Important:

  • Experience with project management
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Exposure to building web-enabled applications
  • Experience building mobile applications
  • Experience in full life cycle of complex software deployment projects

Desirable:

  • Contribute to deployment plans
  • Comprehensive organizational design experience
  • UML knowledge and modelling experience

Qualifications
A higher education qualification (e.g. Degree) and / or substantial relevant experience.
