Project Manager (Essex)

About the role

The Project Manager will be assigned to one or more projects for Sage Housing. The primary responsibility of this position will be to support the current PMO Lead to manage projects across the Roadmap and BAU change programs by coordinating the efforts of the Sage business teams, IT team,  and selected 3rd Party vendors. This role may also support some training, deployment, and administration tasks.

This position works with Sage business teams and IT resources, other third-party consultants and vendors.  Client-side resources can include: Stakeholders, Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and Technology Architects.

The winning candidate will be passionate, committed, organized, and a fast learner, while at the same time being adaptable, coachable, and open to new approaches to technology solution projects.

Key duties include

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

  • Deliver solutions via projects that are on time, on budget, and in scope
  • Create and manage projects with strong stakeholder alignment and buy-in re: strategy, scope, and timeline
  • Drive close project collaboration across business, technology, and third-party teams
  • Manage, support, and synthesize the work of project team members, including Business Analysts
  • Create project plans, socialize them with stakeholders, and keep them up-to-date and available on file share
  • Directly create appropriate CHEF artefacts for managed projects
  • Write all functional requirements as user stories
  • Create test cases and record results with direct traceability to user stories
  • Act as lead point of contact for all matters relating to the project with internal and external stakeholders
  • Schedule and chair all project meetings with IT team and Stakeholders
  • Summarize and report on project status to Head of IT as required
  • Summarise and report on project status to Sage Roadmap Steering Committee (monthly)
  • Create user sign-off documentation to Sage PMO standards
  • Performs duties as assigned by their line manager or Head of IT

About you

Most important:

  • Agile experience (Scrum, Kanban)
  • MS Dynamics implementation experience
  • Project planning and execution experience
  • Agile experience: Writing Epics, Personas, and User Stories
  • Create detailed requirements, including acceptance criteria
  • Design business processes via activity diagrams
  • Writing and execution of test cases that tie to design requirements
  • Thoughtful practitioner of multiple methodologies and frameworks
  • Significant vendor management experience
  • Project Management experience, including MS Project or similar
  • Organize own work and that of team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint

Important:

  • Create and manage testing plans
  • Capture bugs and enhancements requests
  • Experience with information technology migrations and integrations
  • Experience in full life cycle of complex software deployment projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Good practices for version control of artefacts
  • Contribute to deployment plans
  • Experience with Jira or similar

Desirable, but not required:

  • Database experience (ability to write SQL queries)
  • Collaborate with Technology Team to document some artefacts: Deployment Model and Sequence Diagram
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Sufficient Six Sigma knowledge
  • UML knowledge and modelling experience
  • Create a Business Domain Model
