Senior Brand Manager

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the position of Senior Brand Manager will play a pivotal role in bringing to life Sage Housing’s corporate strategy by creating and promoting the Sage brand as a reflection of the culture of the company. As a key member of the Marketing Team, you will lead the ongoing development of Sage’s brand strategy as well as owning and managing the delivery and performance of the brand across all channels both externally and internally. As the owner of the brand, you will build the Sage brand setting the brand purpose, values, and culture, communicating through brand messaging, and establishing the brand’s visual identity ensuring all communication throughout Sage aligns with this.


Key duties include: 

  • Developing the brand strategy based on customer segments and stakeholder groups engaging the senior leaders and our investors, Blackstone/Regis in the process
  • Delivering the brand culture, values and behaviours, messaging, and visual identity as part of the Brand Guidelines
  • Launching the Brand Guidelines internally and ensuring engagement and buy-in at a senior level, including Blackstone/Regis and across all employee groups
  • Leading the rebranding project and brand development across the organisation
  • Launching the Brand Toolbox as a support to communications throughout the business
    • Developing the Annual Brand Plan in conjunction with Head of Marketing
  • Developing and leading the brand ambassadors programme and lead a regular brand meeting to coach and train on use of our Sage brand
  • Working closely with your marketing peer group (the Communication Manager, Marketing Manager and Senior Digital Manager) to ensure brand alignment for all projects
  • Coordinating market research to understand consumer insights and using insights to focus on the brand-building activities
  • Understanding changes in the market, competitive moves, experience consumer interactions and identify opportunities
  • Monitoring competitor activities, and based on this undertake timely market intervention.
  • Evaluating the brand communication mix in line with product strategy
  • Tracking all executions of marketing and communication activity and ensure that they are carried out as per brand expectations
  • Working closely with agencies on the copy/ content and creative for advertisement and promotional campaigns
  • Working with the marketing team and sales teams to ensure promotion of sale of properties through advertisements, events, press releases etc. are ‘on brand’
  • Working closely with HR to ensure the brand aligns with the culture of the organisation and brand values are reflected in the way we recruit, train, and retain our people
  • Tracking actual spends and ensure costs are within the overall budget allocated


About you:

  • 3-4 years’ experience or more in a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in brand strategy and brand management
  • A brand specialist who has previous experience of launching brands and rebranding
  • Proven leader of brand engagement programmes
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of the housing industry is desirable but not essential
  • Experience outside of the housing sector in commercial/private industry is required
  • Brilliant design capability with the ability to tell good design from bad
  • Strong experience in project and programme management skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships across functions
  • Collaborative and open communicator
  • Passion and energy to drive change within the organisation
  • Prepared to live the Sage values



A higher education qualification (e.g. Degree) preferably in marketing or a business related subject and / or substantial relevant experience
