COVID-19 Service Update – see our news page for latest information about our services and how to contact us

Key facts

  • We are a registered provider and fully subscribe to the standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing

  • Our funding comes from long-term stable investors. The stability and certainty of the capital which they invest accelerates the construction of affordable housing as housebuilders can rely on our commitments

  • We represent a new source of capital for the provision of long-term affordable housing and believe that this will significantly increase the nation’s stock of affordable housing

  • We operate across England with the most experienced house builders in the country to deliver high quality new affordable homes for low-cost rent and shared ownership

  • We only provide affordable housing and do not build for sale

  • All of our rented homes are let to people who have been identified as being in housing need and are on local authority housing registers

  • We are committed to following the spirit as well as the letter of planning and nomination agreements

  • We set all of our affordable rents in accordance with regulatory and planning requirements. In addition, we safeguard affordability for residents by capping affordable rent levels at the lower of either 80% of the market rent or the Local Housing Allowance Rate.

We put residents at the centre of our business, and we are committed to a high-quality experience within our homes and from our services. The highly regarded Places for People is our national housing manager, but we will also where appropriate select local Registered Providers and local authorities to deliver housing services on our behalf.

We have already entered into contracts with housebuilders to provide 13,000 affordable homes and will fund at least 20,000 by 2022. We would like to provide some of those in your area. We are also keen to help you to deliver your housing targets by working in partnership with you to unlock development opportunities.
